Opto-Mechanical Design Service
Our opto-mechanical engineers specialize the positioning of optical elements such as lenses, filters, beamsplitters, reflectors, and diffractive elements in mechanical structures that will allow the optical system to perform correctly. Even simple mechanical parts in an optical system can require extensive documentation and notations for coatings, materials, and tolerances to ensure a system functions correctly.
Typical Opto-Mechanical Design Deliverables
Drawings of lens elements define lens geometries and are drafted according to ISO standards (read more about lens drawings here), this will include material type, refractive index, tolerances for surface finish, thicknesses, coatings and more.
Layout drawings show the full assembly of all the mechanical and optical elements and their individual positional tolerances for air gap, tilt and centration.
Mechanical Part drawings for each element including spacers, lens barrels, and adjustment mechanisms. All the part drawings include all the dimensions and tolerances needed for manufacturing.
Assembly drawings describe the complete opto-mechanical system they include lists of parts the assembly contains and relationships between them.
